Your New Workplace

As a preparedness coordinator, you will be organizationally placed in the Department of Security and Preparedness, which in turn is located at the Municipal Executive Office.

The unit is led by a department head, who is also the security protection manager.

Your role will also be supportive and coordinating for both elected officials and civil servants throughout the municipality, thus supporting both the political side of the municipality (council, committees, and boards) and the civil servant side (administrations and units).

As a preparedness coordinator, you will primarily work on:

  • Representing the municipality in regional (or national) working groups and networks related to civil defense and crisis preparedness.
  • Being able to participate in the municipality's staff during societal disturbances.

In addition to these overarching tasks, you will also work on planning and preparations for disturbances in drinking water and sewage supply, as well as issues related to natural disasters, including tasks related to the flood directive. The role also involves monitoring and integrating total defense considerations into the municipality's community planning and serving as the department's contact person on climate-related issues.

Travel within the county and nationally may occur in this position.

Your Competence and Experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree, preferably with a focus on crisis preparedness, risk management, and civil protection, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Previous experience in public service, the security industry, or work related to these areas.
  • Excellent ability to communicate in both spoken and written form, in Swedish and English.
  • A valid driver's license (B).
  • Basic IT skills.

Meritorious knowledge and experience:

  • Experience working with security protection.
  • Previous experience in development, improvement, and/or quality work, project management, continuity management, risk and vulnerability analyses, or security protection work.

As a person, we are looking for someone with a solution-oriented attitude who enjoys handling complex situations in a structured manner. You are goal- and result-oriented, while also having good collaboration skills and appreciating working together with others to achieve common goals. The role requires flexibility and the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions. You are self-driven, take initiative, and move work forward with high integrity and professionalism.
